Lehr: Top 5 things to wear this season
Winter break, my favorite time of the year. Not only because of the hot cocoa and Christmas cheer, but also the change in fashion. There are only so many things you can wear during this season, and here are my top five.
5. High Socks
Call me crazy, but they actually help a lot! Not only do they keep your feet warm, but also your calves. These are one of my go to winter accessories, high socks come in all sorts of different colors and designs. They are so fun and you can find a high sock to go with anything you wear. This item costs anywhere from $5-$15.
4. Boots
High or low, these will come in handy, from blocking wind to keeping your toes out of the snow boots are a must over the winter break. I choose boots over any other footwear for the winter season. They are the most effective and helpful during this time than any typical shoe. Boots come in all different colors, designs, heights, and brands. They are extremely comfortable and will go with just about anything. This item costs anywhere from $20-$150 depending on the brand
3. Scarves
Huge, puffy, and warm, they block the wind from piercing your neck. I absolutely love scarves. I think they go with everything no matter what you’re wearing and all scarves are different. Yes it is a given that scarves are something everyone should wear over this cold season however, they are being used now more than ever, mainly for style. These are one of my go to winter break essentials, stylish but helpful. This item costs from $5-$15.
2. Cardigans
I don’t think that there is a day that goes by during the winter where I am not wearing a cardigan. These help out a lot especially since putting things on, under, or even over the cardigan, will add layers making it warmer for you. These cost anywhere from $15-$25.
1. Sweatpants
This item is my No. 1 go-to item. Of course they are worn throughout the year but they come in handy the most during winter. They are so comfortable and they are all I wear over the winter break. No one wants to wear jeans or shorts during this time, that’s just silly. I wear these everyday, everywhere I go because they are just that comfortable and warm. These will cost $20-$80.
While these items may be strange and random, they are, in my eyes, the most helpful items during the winter, nothing too dressy or too expensive. These items will help you get through the winter, staying warm and looking good.
