Indians play well, but fall to South
In a close game against Plainfield South, the varsity football team fell to the Cougars with a score of 34-27. Touchdowns by Josh Garcia (70-yard pass), Mike Malinowski (8-yard run), Jaccor Blakney (72-yard pass), and Isaiah Hill (71-yard pass) help add points to the scoreboard.
Malinowski, senior, said, “I felt that when I got the ball, I needed to do whatever to score the touchdown. We were already down by a few points, and I needed to put some points on the scoreboard to help out the team anyway I could.”
Malinowski, Oughton, and Parzych all agree that they played well during the game, but some things could have been done differently to have helped them win the game. The odds were not in their favor this game, but no one is letting that be the case for the next game.
The Indians are already thinking of ways to change things up a bit.
Blake Parzych, senior, said, “I would change up the communication for the defense on the field for this upcoming game. We need to try different things in the red zone to change things up a bit. Lastly, we need to correct any mistakes we’ve made in the past to make sure we don’t make them again.”
With only two games left, the team is ready for whatever comes their way and are not willing to take any more losses and are ready to make it to the playoffs this year and go as far as they can.
The Indians play an away game tonight against Oswego East.
