It came down to the final play of the game.
“There was a rundown between third and home, and Gracie Anderson decided that she was going to take things into her own hands, and Superman dove at the runner going back to third and got her out for the last out,” Minooka head coach Mark Brown said.
Minooka got the win over JCA 10-9 on April 8.
Addisonn Crumly was a standout with a two-run homer in the 7th and got on base four out of her five plate appearances.
Another player making an impact was Karli McMillian, who scored three runs and stole two bases, going 4-for-4.
Earlier this season, the Indians played JCA and came up with a 2-1 loss.
“Coming into this game against JCA, we knew that we wanted to get our get back due to our loss in the (WJOL) tournament. We came into it really strong and fell off a little bit, but towards the end we pulled through,” junior Jaelle Hamilton said.
