On March 28, the Minooka freshman baseball team faced Herscher in a windy game at home.
The Indians started off the game slow with zero runs in the first inning, but in the second they racked up 9 runs making the game 9-0 through the first 2 innings.
“As a team, I feel we played very well. We were all looking for our own hits but by the second inning we were just playing as a team and having fun,” said Graham Lee.
Minooka was just getting started.
“We got the bats started early and kept going from there, and they couldn’t really stop us,” said Porter Young
Minooka was doing well with hits and kept the game moving while having great communication.
“I feel that the boys played great, and I’m very proud of how these boys have been playing all season and especially this game proving who they are,” coach Matt Shanahan said
Before it was over, Minooka had won 22-0. The mercy rule was called in the 3rd inning.
Minooka improved their record to 5-0.
