The boys JV wrestling meet on Nov. 25 ended well for Minooka, who defeated Manteno and Ottawa.
“I think I did good, I pinned him in 35 seconds,” said sophomore Dominick Saenz, who wrestled at 138 pounds.
Minooka had some other good matches, as well.
Freshman Devin Fernandez was proud of his performance.
“I feel like I did pretty well, I felt pretty well after my match. The kid I knew was pretty strong, but the technique will always beat strength, but my teammates cheered me on and I dared to beat my opponent,” said Fernandez.
Fernandes won his match with a pin in 20 seconds.
Dominick Saenz also won his match with a pin of 35 seconds.
Unfortunately, sophomore Brennan Deering did not win his match.
“I think my performance was pretty good, I could work on my cardio though,” said Deering.
Overall the Minooka boys JV wrestling team had an good meet for their first competition of the season. Minooka won their meet as a team with multiple individual wins.
