The Minooka girls JV basketball team had trouble making shots against Lincoln-Way West on Nov. 21, taking a tough loss 41-25.
“Our field goal was under 20%,” Minooka coach Bridget McMahon said.
Sophomore Ava Schenck also said the team didn’t shoot well and that Lincoln-Way West was a good team.
The girls had a tough game on the offensive side of the game not making lots of shots. The girls did have a good defensive end despite the loss and held the girls with their press. They also played hard and kept pushing to the last minutes.
Minooka did have a few bright spots in this game, which was only their second game of year.
“Brooklyn King was the best player, having 12 points for the team,” McMahon said.
King helped their offense taking drives to basketball as well as moving the ball around.
As a team, the girls had good communication and good feet movement on defense. Lincoln-Way West was a tough team getting through Minooka’s defense and executing their shots.
“We need to work on offense and shooting at practice,” McMahon said.
