The Minooka freshman football team beat the Romeoville Spartans team 45-6 at home on Sept. 19 They won the game with a positive atmosphere, positive mindsets from the players and the coaches on the sideline.
“I thought we did a good job offensively and we were able to move the ball defensively, we held their offense pretty well and special teams played well too,” coach Nick Micetich said.
Freshman AJ Purcell had his first high school football touchdown, with him going to the ball that quarterback Jayden Hoover threw over the middle.
“I was really excited because it was my first touchdown, and there’s more to come,” Purcell said.
Hoover had a rushing touchdown and a throwing touchdown to tight end Purcell.
“I was on a 10/10 level of excitement, having both a passing and rushing touchdown,” said Hoover.
