After an 11-year hiatus, another college football game has finally dropped for gamers and sports fans.
EA Sports College Football 25 has caused an uproar since its announcement, selling over 2.2 million early access versions of the game and approximately 600,000 free trial copies, adding up to around 2.8 million players worldwide, according to Sportsnaut.com.
There has been a lot of commotion surrounding the performance of CF25 compared to Madden 25. Although Madden has more value in its name, CF25 has won over the public with its newer feel and smoother mechanics.
“Madden just feels like the same game, college football feels like a new game should feel. It’s a lot more immersive with the story mode, the atmosphere is great and the gameplay is just better overall compared to Madden,” said junior Brandon Krippel.
The online play of CF25 was another hot topic of discussion, although it has superior offline play compared to Madden, it’s hard to play online because of the faster-paced animations. This frustrated many players and led them to play Madden for the online experience instead.
Apart from updated graphics and a new physics engine, Madden doesn’t have much to compete with CF25. Madden made an effort to improve by adding the new BOOM Tech engine, a dynamic physics-based tackling system that reengineered the Hit Stick mechanic and gave a new level of ball carrier control.
CF25 is available only on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
