Natalie Nahs is a sophomore on the girls varsity cross country team. She has been running since 7th grade. On Sept. 4, she finished fifth out of 61 runners in the varsity race at Yorkville’s Kailey Fox Invitational. This interview with Nook News has been edited for clarity and length.
Q: What are you most excited for this season?
A: State series cause I’m with my friends in a hotel and I’m excited to PR (personal record).
Q: What is your favorite thing about cross country?
A: It teaches you to get over pain faster and you have a high pain tolerance.
Q: Who is your favorite runner?
A: Sydney McLaughin (Olympic medalist in track and field)
Q: Who do you look up to on the team?
A: Maya Ledesma
Q: How do you prepare for a meet?
A: Eat well, sleep, drink a lot of water, and use the massage gun.
Q: What do you and your teammates do outside of cross country?
A: Hangout and get food, especially Starbucks.
Q: Is there anything you want to add?
A: I want to do well this season, and I’m looking for PR’s and better times.
