The Minooka boys varsity volleyball team dropped a home match against Plainfield East at South Campus on April 4.
The Indians lost both sets to the Bengals, 2-0. Plainfield East won set one 25-18 and then pulled away in the second set 25-13.
Junior Connor Latta had 3 kills for the Indians, along with 1 block and a few digs.
“It wasn’t really a great game for our team,” Latta said. “We definitely could have improved on serve and receive and our blocking.”
Junior Nick Boyce was out for the Indians due to an injury and he too agreed that the game wasn’t the best for the Indians.
“I think it was just a bad performance for our team, and Plainfield East was able to capitalize on our mistakes,” Boyce said. “We definitely could have done a little better on passing, but it’s just best to forget about this game and move on.”
Head coach Mike Kargle for Minooka said this game was a good test for his team.
“We struggled to put point runs together and eliminate their runs,” Kargle said. “They are one of a couple of quality teams in the conference, so it was a good measuring stick for us. We know we have to continue to work hard in practice and allow that hard work to transfer into game-time success.”
The Indians sit at 4-4 overall on the season after dropping this game to Plainfield East.
The varsity team will be back in action on Tuesday as they play away against Lincoln-Way East.
