Kennedi Brass is an opposite hitter and an outside hitter for the Minooka varsity volleyball team. She has played on the varsity team for two years. This interview with Nook News has been edited for clarity and length.
Q: How long have you been playing volleyball for?
A: Maybe around nine or 10 years.
Q: What has led you to play volleyball in the first place?
A: My older sister, she played volleyball her whole life. She went to college for volleyball.
Q: What is it like playing with your sisters (Makenzie and Brooklynne) this year?
A: It’s really nice. We always wanted to play with each other. Now we get the opportunity to end our high school year.
Q: Why were you selected as captain this year?
A: My leadership. It shows through my energy.
Q: With this team do you feel confident you’ll go far?
A: Yeah. I think were a really good team and our bond is really good together. We connect in the court really good, so I think well make it far.
Q: How does it make you feel that you’re a senior?
A: Feels good, and I’m excited to see where college takes me.
Q: Do you plan on going to college for volleyball?
A: Yeah. I don’t know where yet, but I hope I can play.
Q: What was your favorite thing about the Plainfield East game?
A: Our energy. Even though we came off a lot of losses, our energy was great the entire game.
Q: What’s a hot take you have?
A: Orange juice is better than apple juice
Q: What is your favorite snack?
A: I like jelly sandwiches, but no peanut butter.
