Ethan Martin is a junior on the Minooka boys varsity basketball team. This interview with Nook News has been edited for clarity and length.

Q: Who’s your biggest inspiration in life?
A: Probably my parents.

Q: Do you have any siblings?
A: I do. One older and one younger.

Q: What will you do with basketball after your high school career is over?
A: I will probably play overseas after college if I can’t make it to the NBA. 

Q: What can the team do to bounce back from its rough start?
A: Definitely can improve in teamwork as well as making each other better as a team and program.

Q: How do you feel about your role and usage on the team?
A: I feel fine with it. I need to get better as a player, and I’m glad I have teammates that are better for the team and that make a better impact.

Q: What are the areas you think you can majorly improve in?
A: Definitely better bench etiquette and being a better teammate.

Q: What was your offseason training like?
A: I was in the gym almost everyday trying to get better, and I had trainers.

Q: How do you think you’ve played so far this season?
A: Pretty good definitely need a lot of improvement.

Q: Most embarrassing moment on the court?
A: I think I airballed a free throw once.

A: Tori Kelly.
