Junior Brooklyn Doti is on the varsity girls wrestling team.

Brooklyn Doti is a junior on the Minooka girls varsity wrestling team. She started wrestling only last year. This interview with Nook News has been edited for clarity and length.

Q: How long have you been wrestling for?
A: Last year was my first year.

Q: What made you want to start wrestling?
A: I don’t know, they were doing sign ups and I just decided it could be a good experience so I signed up

Q: Do you want to continue wrestling in the future such as college?
A: Maybe, I haven’t really thought about it yet.

Q: Do you look up to anybody in the women’s wrestling community, if so who?
A: No, I don’t really watch that much wrestling

Q:  Do you do anything specific to prepare for meets?
A: Usually just listen to music and get in the mindset/zone to forget everything else.

Q: What is your favorite part about wrestling?
A: The meets and the excitement that comes with it.

Q: How do you think the season will go for you and your team this year?
A: I think that we are going to do good this year and go far.

Q: Who do you believe your biggest supporter is and why?
A: My mom, because she comes to everything and is a very big supporter of me doing this.

Q: What gives you confidence when going into a match?
A: Nothing really.

Q: What is the weirdest food combination that you eat?
A: Potato chips and ketchup.

Q:  If you had unlimited money and time but you could only spend it at one store what would it be?
A: Definitely Nike.
