The varsity football team plays a six-game schedule this spring.

Minooka took the win from Plainfield East on March 19 with a score of 58-26.

The game took place at Plainfield East and was a great season opener for the Indian nation.

Minooka started off slowly, only leading the Bengals 17-14 going into the second quarter. But once the offense started to click they took off,

Senior running back Hunter Ryan had a tremendous game with 3 rushing touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown, and 167 yards on 17 carries.

“It was great to be back.  All the time and energy we’ve been putting in since June of 2020 finally paid off and we were able to accomplish our goal of being 1-0 at 9:30,” said Ryan.

“We kept practicing as if we were going to have a season.  Our school allowed us to follow the IDPH and IHSA guidelines and we modified oractice to adhere to them.  We tried our best to stay motivated knowing we still had a chance to play,”  Harding said about the lengthy offseason.
