Wide receivers with strong start to season
With an impressive 3-0 start to the season, the wide receivers of the Minooka Indians football team have contributed a large amount to the team’s success.
Wide receivers Trent Hudak, Steven Gonzalez, and Brendan Valdez have all played a role in Minooka’s passing game.
“As a wide receiver, it is vital that we all execute our responsibilities on all cylinders, our O-line has done a great job giving our quarterback time to throw at us,” Gonzalez, a senior starter, said.
The Indians have 43 pass attempts, 30 completions, and 543 total passing yards in the first three games.
“As a starter and as a senior, it is my responsibility to lead the juniors into doing the correct things all the time,” Hudak said.
As Week 4 starts, the Indians football team is preparing for their next game at Joliet Central. The Steelmen are 0-3.
“It’s unfortunate that our quarterback is out for the next week or so, but we trust our back-up quarterback, Josh Davis,” Valdez, a junior starter, said. “He has a lot of talent, and as long as we can execute, it shouldn’t matter who is in the quarterback position.”
The wide receivers have executed their plays and given their fans things to cheer for.
“Our scout team defensive backs have done a great job giving us looks so we can play to our full potential,” Hudak said.
