JV soccer has high expectations for upcoming season
The Minooka girls soccer players are ready to kick start their season. Coming off of a 7-6-6 season from last year, many of them are hungry to get back on the pitch.
This year’s team is made up of a lot of youth, majority of them being freshman.
“This year we had a record number of freshman players try out for the team,” said coach Michael Groark.
Groark has expressed high expectations for the 2019 season.
“I have a couple returning players from last season and several talented freshman that will cause our opponents trouble which hopefully results in many victories,” said Groark.
The girls are ready to create a lot of memories of this season.
“Having some fun, improving, and winning some games,” said Anna Viegl, freshman.
A returning player from last year Julissa Hernandez, sophomore, also has high expectations for this season and the team.
“Our forwards are pretty good. Our goalie is pretty good,” said Hernandez, “The girls know how to communicate. We have a good bond already.”
The Indians begin their season against Waubonsie Valley on March 12 at home.
