Head coach Kevin Cain and the varsity boys basketball team are looking for their first win of the season tonight against Plainfield South.

The Minooka boys varsity basketball players are looking for their first win tonight as they compete against Plainfield South.

In order for them to get this win, head coach Kevin Cain has introduced the 1-0 mentality.

“The 1-0 mentality is just taking each day one day at a time, getting better, improving, competing and trying to win every day,” Cain said.

The team is unfortunately starting their season 0-4, and Cain believes that this mentality will help them get their first win. The players are buying into it and enjoy the new style.

“We know that when we come into the gym we have to get better for that day, and if we do our job and get better that day, that’s gonna end up making us better down the road,” Cain said.

Plainfield South is starting their season 2-3. Cain hopes that the 1-0 mentality will help play into this game and help them get the win.

“We gotta get a game, we gotta win one and Plainfield South’s our next opponent so they are our only focus. If we do the right things, we should go 1-0 against Plainfield South,” Cain said.

Minooka plays Plainfield South today, Dec. 7, at Minooka’s South Campus at 6:30 p.m.
