Darden stuffs stats in win over Oswego East
The girls basketball team continued their prolific season with another win against Oswego East on Nov. 30. The win helped assert their position in the SPC conference.
The Indians took control of every quarter throughout the game and dominated the game from start to finish. The girls won every quarter of the game. The final score was 50-36.
This win improved their record to 5-1 and dropped Oswego East’s record to 1-3.
Senior Cierra Bachmann contributed greatly to the team win.
“They played some zone defense, and it was tough to score for us since we are used to playing against a zone. We adapted well, however, which showed how diverse we are as a team,” said Bachmann.
Junior Sophie Darden led the girls’ attack with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists. 2 steals, and 1 block. Darden stuffed the stat sheet to help her team gain the win versus the Wolves.
“We played very good together and we came out with a lot of team assists. We played good cohesive team defense over the course of game also,” Darden said.
The Minooka girls next play at Plainfield South Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m.
