The varsity Arrowettes perform at a football game this fall.

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Minooka varsity poms placed 8th out of 42 teams at the Minooka IHSA Dance Invitational. The competition was held at MCHS Central Campus

“Practicing before and focusing and visualizing helped,” Hannah Karczewski, sophomore, said.

When dancing, the girls think about staying in sync.

“You have to have synchronism and emotion when you are dancing,” Kennedy Ebner, sophomore, said.

On the team the girls dance together to make themselves better and each other.   Their feelings impact their team.

“I think the way you feel makes you better and your team better,” Karczewski said.

The girls had two songs that they performed to.

“One song was slow and lyrical, and the other was fast and energetic,” Karczewski said.

The next competition is Dec. 15 at Stagg High School.
