With the summer months coming to a close, the stream of long-awaited movies is finishing up. Despite this, there are a handful of movies arriving in theaters in the next month that are showing promise.

Unbroken: Path to Redemption (PG-13)

Succeeding the 2014 prequel, Unbroken, this new film picks up exactly where the first concluded. The film follows the next chapter of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini’s incredible true story. When World War II ends, Zamperini is cursed with horrific nightmares of his torment and he sees himself as anything but a hero. He then meets woman named Cynthia who captures his heart and completely changes his view. Throughout the upcoming years of their marriage, the couple faces problems that bring them close to divorce. Cynthia experiences the 1949 Los Angeles Crusade where she finds God and begins praying that her husband can find the peace that he desperately needs. With God’s Not Dead director Harold Cronk and new-comer Samuel Hunt (Zamperini) working on this film, it is sure to be a hit. The movie comes to theaters on Sept. 14.

The House With A Clock In Its Walls (PG)

This new magical film follows 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his Uncle Jonathan (Jack Black) in an old house with a mysterious heart. As he starts to figure out that his new home isn’t what it seems, he is pushed into a new world filled with sorcery, and battle between good and evil. With help from Uncle Jonathan’s friend Mrs. Zimmerman (Cate Blanchett), the three have to get to the bottom of the secrets that this house holds before the evil sorcery is unleashed into the world. With Vaccaro’s wonderful youthfulness, Black’s promising comic relief, and Blanchett’s critically acclaimed performance, this movie is, no doubt, going to be a success when it hits theaters on Sept. 21.

The Predator (R)

The fourth installment of the Predator film series, directed by Shane Black, takes place in the outer reaches of space. The universe’s most dangerous hunters are stronger and deadlier than before in Black’s new take on the series. Having been genetically upgraded with DNA from other lethal species, these hunters wreak havoc on the rest of the world. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return, only a haphazard team of ex-soldiers and a science teacher can stop these predators from ending the human race. With Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, and Jacob Tremblay’s enticing performances, this film will definitely be a crowd-pleaser as it comes to theaters on Sept. 14.
