1st round of Stanley Cup playoffs yields intense games

The NHL playoffs have recently started and so far they are going great. There have been many intense games and new rivalries looking to start up. With lots of high-scoring games, surprises, and competitiveness, this year’s postseason looks like it could be one to remember.

In the first round of the 2018 NFL playoffs, the following happened in the Western Conference.

The Nashville Predators defeated the Colorado Avalanche, the Winnipeg Jets took down the Minnesota Wild, the Las Vegas Golden Knights beat the Los Angeles Kings, and the San Jose Sharks defeated the Anaheim Ducks.

In the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New Jersey Devils, the Boston Bruins took down the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Washington Capitals beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers.

So far, the reigning champion Pittsburgh Penguins look to be the favorite to win the championship once again, but, there are always teams that surprise fans, such as the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

At the beginning of the 2017-2018 NHL season, the Knights didn’t look like they would get anywhere close to where they are now. The Golden Knights are a new expansion team and they are currently in their first ever season of existence. Each and every game their goal is to silence their doubters and they keep successfully doing that.
