Nintendo Switch to change gaming
The Nintendo Switch has been revealed — switching up and revolutionizing the gaming industry.
On Oct. 12, Nintendo released a video on their respective YouTube channel, regarding their newest console — a home and handheld hybrid console. In this 3-minute trailer, Nintendo concealed the basic concept of the system containing many capabilities also promised more information to come.
The system is a handheld device with two controllers on its right and left side, both of which can be switched out for handheld use. The device itself can be placed into a port connected to the TV to display the image on the big screen.
The Nintendo Switch will be succeeding both the Wii-U and the Nintendo 3DS. The Wii-U was a commercial failure, according to ibtimes.com, as a surprise to no one.
“I think it’s a great idea. I don’t know how well it’s gonna work when it comes out,” Jordan Hargreave, senior, said.
Nintendo first revealed plans about a new gaming system in development that had a brand-new concept back in 2015 with the “NX.” They also promised they wouldn’t reveal any information about the NX until 2016.
“As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand new concept under the development codename NX,” Satoru Iwata, former chief executive officer at Nintendo, said on Nintendo.com.
The Nintendo Switch is doing something groundbreaking in the community, combining on-the-go portable gaming and classic family-style console gaming into one device. More information is awaited about the Nintendo Switch before its March 2017 release.
