From trendy to unusual, students pick Halloween costumes
It’s the time of year again where it’s acceptable for all ages to run around acting like children, changing who they are for one night.
Halloween is all about the costume and the boatload of candy you’re supposed to bring home. Just like every year there’s always some new icon that girls and boys want to dress as.
This year’s is Harley Quinn for girls, and clowns for boys. While these are some of the more popular of costumes for this Halloween, there are plenty of other ideas floating around this year.
One very interesting and different idea was dressing as fruits. Freshmen Alana Floyd is dressing as a pineapple, Lexi Baronoski as a watermelon, Lauren Pulido as a strawberry, Gianna Scorzo a kiwi, and Jadyn Fernandez a grape.
“We wanted to do a group costume and we wanted to do something fun, and Lauren suggested that we be fruit,” Baronoski said.
Some take a sports perspective on this season as well.
“I’m going to be a football player again, that’s always my go-to when I’m not interested in being anything else,” Connor Etzcorn, freshman, said.
Another different costume is dressing as a grandma. It’s not like someone’s going to have the same costume as you will.
“I’m decided on this because I think it’ll be really funny, and really who else is going to be a grandma,” Maddy Hugunin, sophomore, said.
Some people base their costumes off of movie characters. For instance. senior Gaetano Turi is dressing as Squints from the movie The Sandlot.
“I look just like Squints so it only makes sense to be him for Halloween,” Turi said.
You can make a costume out of just about anything, and that’s exactly what these students did. Halloween is about being different and changing up who you are for just one night.
